I know, I know... I've not been keeping up with my blog properly this summer. Truth be told, my summer was busy. Fun-busy. As I sit here in LAX, awaiting my flight home, I reflect back on the new things I did this summer and am satisfied I lived this summer, really enjoyed life. BUT.... for the past few days, I was in a part of California that offers little of the connectivity that we have become accustomed to. I found it very refreshing.
Instead of checking my eBay sales these past few days, I checked the rainclouds that were brewing bringing a very brief rain shower to the intensely dry area. And instead of capturing my day's activities at the end of the day in the form of a blog post, I captured my day's activities in digital form, on camera and camcorder. And instead of singing the blues about the eBay changes being forced down my throat, I played and sang the oldies but goodies with friends and family.
So, I'm on my way back home. But I will not forget the lessons I have learned over this summer. Lessons of taking time to really enjoy what is around me.... understanding what I am seeing.... expanding my vision.... enriching my life.
Yesterday I played in the CA wilderness for the last time for a while. As the afternoon drew to a close and we returned to share a meal, we stopped just once more.... to enjoy the large critters, grazing in their field...and nodding off to sleep, right on their faces....
I hope your summer was one to remember. Mine certainly was.
